God is even better than any good father who wants his children happy and blessed. Sometimes we think somehow He doesn’t want to be generous to us because we might not be able to handle it. Let’s look at Psalm 35:27 and what it says. God is a good God.
Psalm 35:27-28 Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
Yahweh takes pleasure in your prosperity. The word prosperity used here is shalom shalom. This is a Jewish greeting that means “nothing missing, nothing broken” or all is well spirit, soul and body. It includes your happiness and wellness.
- God wishes your safety from danger and accident
- God wishes your wellness spiritually, physically and mentally
- God wishes your prosperity financially and success in business
- God wishes your peace with God, yourself and other people
Prosperity is more than money because even people with abundant money are sometimes not well physically or mentally or relationally. God wants all four of these areas well for you.
When you think of how God has prospered you, it leads you to verse 28 which says I speak or declare or confess your praise all the day long. Today when you’re thinking of some specific reasons to praise Him, remember times He has prospered you.
