Using the Name of Jesus

There is power in His name to save you from eternal death. There is power in His name to protect you from physical harm. There is power in His name to drive out satan and sickness.  When we sing about the name of Jesus we need to remember His name is not for His use- but for our use. That name and its power have been given to us! When we say or sing the name of Jesus in faith, we are applying that Mighty Name to our situation and the scriptures say at that name every knee bows in every realm- heaven, earth and hell.

The name of Jesus is more than a formal closing to a prayer. The name of Jesus is a powerful key to open doors and lock doors. Let’s begin to apply the name of Jesus to some situations in our personal life and our churches and worship services. Let’s use the name of Jesus to calm the storms of life around us and for those who don’t yet know Him.

• Am I conscious of the name of Jesus belonging to me as a believer?
• Do I privately utter His name in worship?
