Recognize Fear is a choice

September 28, 2022

Although there are many opportunities to fear, the good news is we can choose not to! First of all we must learn to recognize opportunities to fear.

I Peter 5:8 (MSG)  Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping

The enemy will use anything to pull us into fear. The news, a bad report from a doctor, a financial stress are all obvious things. The only real way to stay alert is to school ourselves to recognize fear at its onset. Then we can make a choice to choose instead to believe what God’s Word says is the solution. It’s always in Jesus! The more we know what belongs to us as God’s children, the easier it is to immediately respond to fear as Jesus did. He spoke to storms and told them to cease.

Jairus’s daughter was very sick and even had died by the time someone met Jesus to ask for help. Mark 5:36 But Jesus paid no attention to what they said. He told the synagogue leader, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”  It’s simple to understand but harder to do when fear grips you. But Jairus’ daughter was healed because he chose to believe Jesus. Remember fear is a choice to believe the bad will occur. But faith in God receives the answer and the deliverance.

The author of fear is satan. He has no authority over you unless you take the bait of fear and accept it. Remember to respond to trouble with God’s Word.

The best go-to scripture for about everything is

1Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
