Have you taken time this year to look into your heart at the goals and dreams that are there? Have you ever written down these desires so that you can refer to them? The difference between dreams and plans is that a plan is written down. A dream is a fantasy in your mind. Dreams are great but plans are greater because they will bring your dream into reality. Some dreams are too big for you, but through prayer, God can show you how to see these dreams accomplished.
What is a plan?
Webster defines plan as: the form of something to be done existing in the mind…expressed in words or committed to writing. The representation of any projected work on paper.
Write the Vision
“And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by” Habakkuk 2:2 (AMP)
God had a plan to redeem man and He committed it to writing
God had a plan in His heart that He revealed through prophets who wrote it down. That plan was written in the Bible so all generations would know it clearly. You were created to accomplish some things on this earth as well. Just like the Lord spoke to Habakkuk, he is speaking to us all to ask God “what is the dream” and then write it down so it can come to pass.
Writing things takes time
This is reason most people don’t take time to write their goals and desires down on paper. We think it’s complicated and hard. But actually, once you take the time to commit your thoughts into words and keep them, you will discover each consecutive year becomes easier because you take last year’s list and edit it. You rejoice at the things that have been completed so it’s a great way to see answered prayers. Then you move some things that still haven’t come to pass to the next year and keep building your plan. Studies show you are fifty times more likely to achieve something if you write it down. Wow! That’s amazing isn’t it? There are some dreams and inventions and projects in your heart that may never come to pass until you write them down. Once they are in writing then they become your prayer projects and you begin to plan for them to be accomplished. Get the plan on the paper!
