4 Ways to be a Stronger Person

August 18, 2020

Some people view Christians as weak people who need a God-crutch. Nothing can be further from the truth. The people of God are not weak. We are strong and we act. We are going to talk about 4 ways to be a stronger person.

 1. Be part of a tribe

We are not in this life alone. We are part of a tribe. We should be a part of a congregation that has a purpose. The purpose God gives each church will be greater than any one person can perform. We need each other. This passage defines “people” as a tribe, congregation unit or flock.

2. Get to know your God

We are to recognize Him in everyday life. We are to be responsible to get to know our God through His Word and prayer. We are to be aware of Him and not ignorant of Him. Ultimately our strength comes from knowing Him intimately. If you know Him as your Healer- you are strong physically. When you know Him as your Deliverer, you are strong over the challenge. .

3. Stand Firm

We are to seize opportunities. We are to strengthen others. We are to help and repair relationships. We are to fortify our communities. We are to conquer personal challenges. We are to prevail over adversity. We are made to recover from failure. We are made to withstand storms. With Him we can be fearless!

4. Take Action

The definition of this word means to advance over life’s obstacles. It means to finish our course. It means to fulfill God’s plan for our lives and to bring His will to pass. It means to succeed. Sometimes our action is words.

Here’s the same Scripture from some other translations:

“but the people that know their God shall be strong, and shall act.” (Darby)

“but the people that know their God shall prevail and succeed.” (DRB)

“But those who know God and obey him will be strong. They will fight back.” (ERV)

  • In what areas do you need to believe you are strong?
  • In what area are you working to finish?
