Sometimes I just want to hide from hard situations. Sometimes I want to hide from challenging people. A hiding place is a safe place from storms. A hiding place can be a strong person to run to for counsel.
God is my hiding place
God is my hiding place. He is a safe person. He always gives wise counsel. When I’m in His presence, even the storm doesn’t blow me away. God is the Person who lets me know I’m not alone. I can draw near to Him and receive His comfort. He is my protector from the wounds of words from people.
During times of great loss when a loved one passes, there is the hiding place of God that keeps us sheltered from grief and pain. It’s like we are hiding away and under anesthesia to the pain. The peace of God in His presence brings us through.
Sing about It
Singing songs is actually one of the ways I am protected. I remind myself of the truth that Great is Thy Faithfulness. Or I may sing and encourage myself that I’m never alone. Singing these songs also brings the presence of God into my situation. When I become aware of God’s presence, I become empowered to act. I become aware I’m loved and protected. Songs help us connect with God’s deliverance us from the oppression of the situation.
