God is such a wonderful protector. He strengthens us from within and without. He shields us from attacks. Let’s look at how God can be both a shield and strength.
God is my strength
Strength comes from God. God is spiritual strength when we trust Him. God is physical strength each day and whenever we need healing. God is emotional strength when our world is stormy. God’s Word will strengthen our soul and keep us from being emotionally up and down. When I don’t feel strong I confess “I am strong in the Lord and the power of His might”.
God is my shield
We need shields when we are in a battle. Ephesians 6 indicates we have a shield of faith. Shields keep the enemy’s arrows from harming us. God’s Word will shield us from mental and spiritual onslaughts. So whenever thoughts barrage my mind, I can hold up God’s Word and speak it and it becomes my shield and protection. Both these protections are voice-activated! If we don’t speak it out, it won’t come to pass. Just as shields don’t protect you unless you use them, so God’s Word won’t shield you if you don’t put it in your mouth.
My heart trusted in him and I am helped
Oh how we can trust Him! He never lies. He never lets us down. He is unchanging in His love and desire to help us. He is my Helper in every situation. My heart rejoices and I praise Him with my song.
