3 ways to improve your attitude this year

January 18, 2022

When you think of your future, how do you feel? Are you expectant or are you dreading it? Do you believe bad things can change? Do you believe God is always with you and on your side? Do you keep your hope at the forefront?

I like Proverbs 31:25 (TVB) which states “…she smiles when she thinks about the future.” Thinking is a choice we can make. And feelings will follow what we think. Our thoughts are huge in creating our reality. Here’s 3 things that help keep our attitudes bright for the coming year.

1.Don’t pine the past

Last year is past and your sins are forgiven. You can begin anew. Living mentally and physically in today and enjoying it. The past can’t be changed. Learn from it and move on.

2.Don’t be plagued by the present

Living today with the idea of its value and importance helps make each day count. Since God is the only person who never changes, start every day with Him. Reading through Proverbs every day will impart wisdom to your life. You may have situations today that seem difficult. Ask for God’s help in every minute detail. He truly cares and wants to help.

3.Plan for the future you want

Simply writing down goals and setting plans to accomplish these will give you a direction for the coming year. Goals can be financial or spiritual or relational. Decide where you want to be and write these down. “A wise man thinks ahead; a fool doesn’t and even brags about it!” Proverbs 13:16 (TLB). I know we all want to be wise and use the resources of time, talent, finances and relationships well this coming year.

God loves you!
