How to be assured your prayers are answered

September 29, 2021

How can we be confident God hears and answers our prayers? Today let’s look at the scripture and look at four things that lead to confident prayer.

“Since we have this confidence, we can also have great boldness before him, for if we present any request agreeable to his will, he will hear us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we also know that we have obtained the requests we ask of him. 1 John 5:14-15 TPT

  1. Our confidence to come before God is because Jesus made the way

We are instructed to ask in Jesus’ name. This is similar to using someone’s name and doing business for them. When we pray we are doing kingdom business and the right to come in prayer is because we are born again children of God. It’s not because of our sinless lives of merit, but rather Jesus’ blood that paid for our right to use His name in prayer.

  1. We can always know God’s will when we know God’s Word

Many prayer are not answered because they are not in God’s will. Others are not answered because the person praying is not sure if it is God’s will. We learn God’s will through His word about things specifically promised there. For other areas of life such as who to marry or what job to take require us taking time in prayer to get the heart of the Holy Spirit who always knows the will of God for us specifically. When we get His peace we have His will. When we sense a hesitancy or uncertainty, it’s usually better to wait and not pursue that project.

  1. God always hears prayers offered in faith

Prayers offered with faith in God’s love and knowledge of His will always are bold. God wants to do good for people on the earth. He is not withholding anything good. We must be confident when we pray that we have a right to come and that God always longs to hear our prayers.

  1. We know we have obtained

So once we pray, the next step is to thank God that He heard our prayer and we praise Him for the answer even before we see it. This scripture is a great confession to say once we have prayed to keep us in faith. We don’t continue to ask the same request over and over. Instead, we continue to praise Him until the answer has manifested.
