Give God the tithe
By far the best way to honor God is to sow ten percent of your income to your local church. The local church is important to God. It is God’s way of taking care of believers. It is also God’s plan to give each church a particular part of His universal vision. That local church body has something to complete on the earth. Without the tithe, the local church (which is God’s visible presence in a community) will die out. Since it’s God’s business, He wants it to flourish. The pastor is God’s called one to pray, preach and care for the people of that church. He is the daddy of that church. For the local pastor to do his job well, he needs to be paid, which comes from the tithe.
Give God the honor for every increase
Every time we receive a pay increase, a job promotion, a gift we should honor God for the one who has blessed us. He gave us life and daily strength to work that job. He gave us that bright idea that led to the promotion. Without Him we are really nothing. So, we honor God by telling Him thanks and giving God the praise for every increase.
The promise God gives us as we honor Him with our wealth is that He will increase every area of our life. I have seen this lived out in my own life and others through the years. Incredible blessings abound to the one who trusts God and honors Him with their wealth.
