Recent hurricanes brought more than enough rain to Texas and Florida. Our trees in the backyard produce more than enough leaves in the fall. Weeds are more than enough. But these are all bad things. But God is truly more than enough. In fact, one of His names “Shaddai” is sometimes translated as more than enough or Almighty.
“When you sit enthroned under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High.” Psalm 91:1 The Passion Translation
As believers, we have seating with Christ. When you are sitting next to God Himself, you are protected. Shaddai is also translated as God of the mountain, God the destroyer of enemies, God the self-sufficient One, God the nurturer of babies, God the Almighty. When you know God as your Father and then understand that He has more than enough of everything you will ever need and wants to use it for your good, it makes you rejoice!
1. God is more than enough mercy when you sin
His mercy is more than enough to erase every failure. His mercy doesn’t run out when you sin 4000 times either. Since He forgives and forgets, the next time you sin is like the first time you sinned. He doesn’t keep score.
2. God is more than enough love to reach every human being throughout eternity
Imagine that immense love that shows no favorites. Through ages past, the present and the future, He still loves people. Because He is God you are more than a number. He knows the number of hairs on your head. He cares about what you care about.
3. God is more than enough peace in the midst of every storm
Just like Jesus was asleep in the boat with His disciples, He is in your boat too. You can call out for help just like the disciples and Jesus will still the storms within you. His peace passes all understanding and will keep you.
