What is truth?

July 16, 2021

What is truth? That’s the timeless question of the ages. But actually, it’s simple.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

God is truth. He is the only one qualified to always know what is absolutely true! Because He is omniscient (all-knowing) He knows everything. Because He is omnipresent, He misses nothing! If we truly believed this, wouldn’t we constantly read His Word to get to know truth as He is? If we truly believed we needed His help, wouldn’t we continually seek His face for it?

We need to be reminded that only God really knows everything about everything. No matter how educated you may be, that education is limited. It’s limited to the teacher who gave you the information and the group of people who compiled the curriculum. But think about this: God is smarter than every educator combined. He is smarter than every book you could read on the subject you study.

Why do we not pour ourselves into seeking the One who knows all? He is the only One qualified to answer your every question. He is the only One who knows you completely and totally. He is the only One who knows everybody else totally. He knows your DNA and the purpose He created you. But here’s the great news:

When we ask God, He will show us what we need to know about our life. Instead of hitting our heads against a wall trying to figure ourselves out, shouldn’t we seek the One who created us and knows everything? He knows the future and the economy and inventions that could be created by you! He knows how to discipline your child. He knows the answer to the dilemma you face. ASK! SEEK! LISTEN!
