It’s so wonderful to be forgiven. Today let’s look at 3 benefits of forgiveness.
1.Forgiveness Prevents Faith Failures
Faith Is How We Receive From God and unforgiveness is one major reason our faith can be hindered.
Mark 11:24-25 (AMP) For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. 25 And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop.
2.Forgiveness Prevents Bitterness From Taking Root
Notice that bitterness troubles you and not the person who offended you. We are instructed to forgive and not allow bitterness to poison our fruitfulness. Hebrews 12:15 states (NLT) “Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you…”. Let’s keep ourselves from trouble.
3.Forgiveness Prevents Your Future From Being Defined By Your Past
Philippians 3:13-14 (TLB) …I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to…
It’s not so much our failures that hinder us, but our inability to put it behind us. Throughout the Bible we see flawed people who were able to receive God’s forgiveness themselves and go on and become productive.
So let’s live in our benefits!
