Why exactly do we sing our praises to God? Psalm 147:1 gives us 3 good reasons.
1.The reason we praise is that God is good
He is not a tyrant or hard to approach. He is not hard to get along with.He is absolutely good!
2.Singing praises is our response to His love and favor personally
We praise in response to our wonderful God. We respond to His great acts of love and favor to us personally. Whenever someone does something for you, it’s good form to appreciate them verbally. He is not merely God- but He is “our God”. He is my Father personally.
3. Praise is good and pleasant
Praise is directed to bring glory to God and not us. It’s good to give credit to God Who deserves it! It is pleasing to God when we praise because He loves to hear from us. It is pleasing to us when we praise because it makes us happy to remember how good He is!
